The very first official Road Safety Awareness event focusing on safe and effective group riding techniques and practices took place on Saturday 23rd May. All of 35 Members and Officers attended an excellent presentation given by our Director Jean and Assistant Director Silvio, Safety Officer Sandro and Sergio as our Lead Road Captain.

During the event held at 1902's upstairs conference room in Pembroke we saw a superb visual presentation covering the main highlights and best practices for riding in staggered and single formations and steps taken to overtake other traffic safely as a group. Many 'what if' scenarios were also discussed with a view to furthering member's overall road safety knowledge.

Following the presentation and questions and answer session members all headed out on the road in two groups to put these learned principles into practice during an organised and monitored ride.

On returning a very casual but informative debriefing was given by Jean highliting various dos and don'ts observed and corrected for a safer group ride experience, both on our local roads and especially for when we travel abroad.

In conclusion to this very worth while safety event members sat down to a great lunch at 1902 restaurant. As always great friends shared in each other's motorcycle passion and merriment. This was a truly amazing and educational day!
