Tale of a Long Weekend

Italy, Malta… yes, this time round we made sure to show our presence on both territories. Because one country is simply not enough… is it?

While a group of friends hit the road for the Spring Rally in Senigallia, the rest of us made sure the island stayed loud, shiny, and very much awake.

Let’s take it step by step.

Friday was easy—beautifully unofficial. The usual spot… Kettles in the morning. Fifteen noisy bikers rolled out for a refreshing B-road ride to Gnejna Bay. It’s incredible how refreshing the Maltese countryside can be in spring—green, quiet… well, at least until we arrive.

Once in Gnejna, we grabbed a refreshing drink, enjoyed the usual banter, and snapped a few photos… because let’s face it, HOGs are a photogenic bunch.

Saturday had a slightly different pace. While WKD was closed for some well-deserved rest ahead of the Cugini Run rush, we still gathered at our FC Attard spot. Sunshine, drinks, a bite to eat, and a relaxed atmosphere… what more could you ask for?

Sunday… now that’s a story.

Yes, we met again. Yes, it was another friendly ride. And yes—we hit the 30-bike benchmark. Because, you know… go big or go home. Naturally, we went big.

Back to Kettles: coffee, banter, laughter, and friendship. The essentials. Our Senior Road Captain briefed us on the ride—destination: Żebbuġ piazza.

The route took us through Valletta and then southbound to our final stop. Around 50 km of main roads, riding in proper formation—the proper way… just like the Malta Chapter knows how.

At Żebbuġ, we found reserved parking right in the piazza, directly in front of Muddy Waters—our final destination. A big shout-out to Patrick and the team for the warm welcome. That place brought back quite a few memories… time really does fly—sometimes a bit too fast.

Muddy Waters delivered it all: great music, a live band, tasty nibbles, and fast service… just the way we like it. Something tells me we’ll be back more than a few times.

Truth be told, no one really wanted to leave. But eventually, a smaller group rolled on to a nearby restaurant to grab some food—because riding works up an appetite, obviously.

Another amazing weekend where we rumbled and shined… oh yes.

Now—bring on the next one!
